/2012/01/fiona_skelton.jpgFiona is a psychologist providing psychotherapy informed by a psychodynamic and interpersonal framework. Her philosophy is that everyone has their own unique and wonderful ways. She believes psychotherapy is not about “changing” you — it’s about expanding your understanding of yourself and the world around you, so it all fits together better.

She completed her Clinical Masters of Psychology at Victoria University in Melbourne, which specialises in both psychodynamic and CBT approaches. As such her therapeutic approach draws upon Interpersonal Therapy, Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Fiona will use evidence-based psychotherapies that are tailored to your individual needs. She has a background in creative arts and communication, so the therapy sessions will be interesting, meaningful and engaging and you might even share a laugh together!

She has experience in community mental health organisations, counselling services, psychiatric hospitals and the not-for-profit sector. She also currently works for the University of Sydney as a clinical trial psychologist.

Fiona is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Psychology Board of Australia) and is a registered provider under Medicare.
