Helen is a Clinical Psychologist. Her qualifications are a Doctor of Clinical Psychology, a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours all from the University of Sydney. She is a full member of the Australian Psychology Society.
Helen works primarily with adults and older adolescents. She has a special interest in eating disorders and obesity, having worked in this field for a number of years. She also sees clients with mood disorders including depression, and anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, and generalised worry. Helen is also experienced with confidence and self esteem issues, and general stress management. She is always focused on enhancing clients’ wellbeing and potential.
Helen has received numerous academic awards and has taught psychology to undergraduate and postgraduate students at university. Helen has a strong background in research and has presented at national and international conferences. Her Masters research involved an examination of a therapeutic approach to increase motivation to change amongst clients with eating disorders. Helen is a published author in this field.
Helen generally works within a cognitive behavioural framework, however, she is skilled at adapting her approach for each client’s needs.
