If your counselling is to be supported by Medicare, you will need a referral from your doctor, and they will also need to create an approved treatment plan for you.  If you know which of our psychologists you would prefer to see, please call the psychologist first to ensure they will be able make an appointment at a time which suits you and then advise the referring doctor of your choice. If Medicare rebates are not required then you will not need a referral from your doctor.  Simply call to make an appointment.  Referrals are also not needed in order to claim rebates or refunds from your private health insurance fund.
